How do I know if I have varicose veins?
Self help… check for following symptoms..Do you have visible veins in legs which becomes more prominent km standing.
Any history of swelling in legs which worsen on putting the feet in dependent position and improves on leg elevation or lying down.
Discomfort in the legs, mainly in evening hours.
Non healing ulcers in leg.
Any history of bleeding with visible veins.
CONSULT your doctor. Your doctor will conduct few tests to know if you have varicose veins.
Clinical examination including a thorough inspection and palpation in standing and lying down position.
Most important is colour Doppler examination to know the status of superficial and deep veins, status of perfornators., Major and minor reflux, reflux on valsalva or other maneuvers..
