Concerns that Catheter directed thrombolysis helps with:
Acute arterial ischemia
Catheter directed thrombolysis Is a process by which the occluded artery or vein segment is approached via Catheter through a small needle puncture.
Here we enter and precisely place the catheter with multiple side holes into the thrombosed segment and give slow infusion of thrombolytic agents.
The mentioned concerns occur due to the formation of clots/thrombus in the blood vessel. With this technique, we target these thrombi locally and dissolve them to re-start the blood flow through the vessel. These thrombolytic agents like alteplase, reteplase, tenecteplase etc. work as TPA's. This means that they are tissue plasminogen activators.
These TPAs act locally once introduced close to the thrombus via the catheter and have a minimal effect on the rest of the body. They are thus very effective in dealing with acute ischemia. You will be asked to follow certain after-care instructions after the procedure, which are listed ahead on this page.
There are certain criteria that one has to look at before recommending CDT (catheter directed thrombolysis). It is not performed in cases of:
- Recent heard trauma
- Recent brain or spine surgery
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Any major surgery within the past 7 days.
Catheter direct thrombolysis without stent | Rs. 150000 |
CDT with stenting | Rs. 300000 |
The top vascular surgeon of Jaipur will first meet you and assess your condition. He will then inform you of the preferred line of treatment.
In case CDT is chosen as the preferred line of treatment, you will be taken to the treatment room where local anesthesia will be provided and you will be prepared for the treatment.
The treatment will be performed and after your surgeon is satisfied with the results achieved, you will be asked to leave the minor OT and collect your after-care instructions, to be followed at home.
