Concerns that Embolectomy helps with:
Acute arterial ischemia
Embolectomy surgery is a procedure undertaken to remove an embolus, which is a blockage in the artery. An embolus is any form of mass that is unattached to the vessel walls and is capable of blocking it. An embolus could be a blood clot. air bubble, piece of fatty deposit or any other object carried in the vessel. Removing such an embolus with an emergency surgery is called embolectomy.
Embolectomy can be done by open surgical technique or over the wire endovascular technique. It quickly restores the blood flow and helps in organ preservation.
How does it work: blood vessels can be blocked by denovo thrombus formation or embolic showering. This clot is blood vessel obstructs the flow of blood. Embolectomy works by removing of this clot and restoring the flow of blood within the blood vessel.
Embolectomy works well in patients of acute ischemia, the patients who present early to the hospital are the best candidates for embolectomy. it can vary from 6hrs to 14 days depending on the degree of blockage and vessels involved.
Organ preservation by embolectomy is aimed in the patients where the gangrene has not already set in or there is scope of salvage of limb(partial or complete)
|Over the wire embolectomy||Rs. 100000|
|Suction catheter based thrmbolectomy||Rs. 250000|

Once you've completed the treatment, there are certain instructions that you must follow at home:
- you need to wear a compression stocking for 7-10 days after the treatment
- You need to perform a follow-up ultrasound a few days later to help the surgeon ensure that the vein has been occluded
- Some antibiotics may be prescribed to you.
The major risk of the procedure is the potential of infection at the site of incision. However, we have no instances of such an event in the scores of surgeries performed.
Catheter directed thrombolysis Is a process by which the occluded artery or vein segment is approached via Catheter through a small needle puncture.
Here we enter and precisely place the catheter with multiple side holes into the thrombosed segment and give slow infusion of thrombolytic agents.
